More Problems

The previous problems not yet rectified, new problems surfaced.

The piping were not run neatly. Seemed to me that the plumber did not plan the running of the pipes properly before construing.

Wah! Very untidy! So many bends!

Told Patrick that we want the pipes lower than the built-in cabinets so that the pipes can enter from below instead of the side. Don’t want to puncture a hole at the side of the cabinet. And also don’t need hot and cold pipes for the common toilet sink because our young miwschivous boys may scald themselves.

Think this one might need to hack out the tile, cut the hot water pipe and run the cold water pipe lower. The pipes from the storage heater run into the adjacent storeroom from the top, run all the way down and the come out from the bottom. Really hate pipes! So Patrick gave this good suggestion to conceal some pipes in the storeroom.

Wah! So big the hole! How!? From my kitchen to the common toilet.

Maybe need to build a casing to conceal these really ugly pipes!

Wanted to meet Patrick tomorrow early in the morning.

Poor guy! Sick liao.

Sigh.

So we cancel appointment to let him have a better rest.

Don’t think the work can finish by 3rd week of March

Rectification needed!

Sighted these last Saturday morning.

Window

Looks ‘flimsy’! The glass for the windows are really thin. According to my FIL is approximately about 2mm only where the ones in our current home is about 4-6mm. The workmanship is really lousy. Frames not properly done. The rubbers were way too short for some windows. Not cut properly.

And rubber strips were not tugged in properly.

And some rubber so thin, they actually ‘curl’!

Tiles and Grouts

These tiles, tagged in red, are hollow.

While these are not done properly.

Grout of different colour. But I am not sure if they finish with the grouting already.

According to Patrick, the workers ran out of material and were too lazy to go out and buy resulting in this ’snip’ or ‘cut’ in the middle!

Don’t know whether we too ‘ngiau’ or

emoticon Patrick’s workers really not up to mark.

But Patrick was in the best of mood cause we paid him his first installment. Said he will look into the problems.

L-shape Sofa

Last month, after reading this, we decided to drop by Luxur to have a look. Impressive. The sofas are custom made at a reasonable price.  We went down for the second time last Saturday and confirmed our L-shape sofa set. We got the popular passive design but choose beige synthetic leather for the backing and coffee colour fabric for the cushions.. The long sofa is a bit too broad so we requested only 80cm. We wanted one arm rest instead of two to give the sofa an ‘open’ feeling.  And also requested that the tailor sew longer zips fore ease of change of the covers. All these for just $1199. But keeping my fingers crossed with the deliveries.

Barang Barang

Last Saturday Morning, most of our barang delivered. Toilet bowls, Wash basins, Kitchen sink. Hob and Hood, taps, storage heater, etc.

The delivery man brought his punch along to punch a hole on our Franke sink for soap dispenser.

Children’s Bed Set

We went to STAR furniture to get the Ital Junior bed set. $1588. We’ve been shopping around but only STAR has this set. The boys love it. Plenty of storage space, a desk for them to write and most important, steps for them to climb.

I’ve asked our carpenter to add removable shelving to the cupboard as the boys are still young and most of their clothes are folded rather than hung.

Geomancy

Met Master Cecil Lee in the afternoon, last Friday. We were pleased that how we’ve planned our home is in harmony with the fengshui, so no major changes. Even the colours that we had in mind were favourable. So yes, we are going to paint our room Purple and the living room Earth! But no water feature at the entrance (was told this will bring hubby luck with women, besides generously giving our wealth to our neighbors) nor mirrors at the dining area that faces the reservoir.

We were impressed with Cecil’s philosophy. He told us that there is not need for expensive crystals or fengshui object. The money could be put to better use for the family, like a good dinner for the family. And when there is harmony in the family, the fengshui of the home will also be good. He did a detailed analysis of our Ba Zhi but glossed through them during our dicussion. I don’t believe in Ba Zhi. To me its merely self full filling prophecy.

Well, the affirmation and peace of mind comes at a good $688!

Beats me. But I’ve taken quite a keen in Feng Shui. Got this book, "Feng Shui for Interiors" from Borders on the way home from a work seminar. And spent a deserving relaxing half hour sipping mango smoothie and browsing through it in the cafe.
