Our Common Toilet

DIY
We’ve learned the hard way that we could not rely on the workers to do everything even though we paid them to do so. Thus, we’ve taken a really proactive role like wrapping our furniture, covering shelves with papers and shifting the furniture to one side to prepare for the painting work.
The marble floor was cleaned when we reached our new home at 4pm. Since the kichen and the toilet are still sandy, we decided to wash them otherwise, the whole place will be dirty and sandy once the workers comes in on Monday to continue their job.
Look what happened?

Yeap! Both toilets flooded!
Called Patrick and his cheeky reply was "Good! Water means wealth"
And who says that stern-looking guy can’t joke! He reassured us that its a common problem and will look into it on Monday.
But the cabinet is right above the drain! So called Ah Keong and told him to cut a hole on the cabinet floor so that we could access the darin in future if there’s a choke. Told him to fir a metal piece with mesh over the hole. This will also helps in ventilation for the enclosed cabinet.
SOFA
Then came our L-shape sofa from Luxur. A bit long - should have gotten the 2.5m instaed of the 2.7m!

We were worried when we read some negetive reviews on LUXUR after we ordered the sofa. Fortunately the delivery is withour hiccups. The colour, design, even the position of the zip is exactly the way we wanted.
When we were ordering the safa, we asked the sales asst if she would provide us with a sketch of what we have communicated to her. She said that this is not their practice. She would just write down in detail our requests on the invoice.
So, we decided to do the sketch ourselves, stating clearly the colour, the design, the dimension, where we want the zip to be, etc. Guess this really helps to ensure a smooth delivery.
Kids Bedroom Set
Then came the Kids bedroom set.

The set is huge and we made sure that the room can fit the unit when we ordered. But we totally forgotten about this when we asked Patrick to build the false wall to cover up the ugly air-con pipes.
Result - one of the staircase cannot fit in! And the railing too! We will probably just get a stool from IKEA to slot into the little space in between the unit and the wall.

This is the view, when I sat on the top staircase and took a breather.

A closer look - Yeap! The city came alive right before my eyes!

Lamps Exchange
We decided to chage our didning lamsp. Long story. Will continue another time. We rushed down to Lights Arcade and bought the lamp that the workers broke, exchanged for a new glass piece for the downlights that have chipped and bought a new halogen dining lamp for the dining. Andrew is really nice and reasonable. He will refund us the dining lamp as long as the condition is still barnd new.
Oh! The Loy Kee Chicken Rice opposite Lights Arcade is delicious :)
Still enjoyed it as much though I had my wisdom tooth extracted just a couple of hours earlier.

Hey! Things are looking good. All set for the final lap. :)
